Caffè Corsini - coffee heritage from Tuscany

A Tuscan tradition since 1950

Caffè Corsini is a company whose history began in 1950 in the heart of Tuscany, when Corsino Corsini began his journey into the world of coffee. We are passionate and loving about the characteristics of the coffee bean, to bring them out while preserving their natural richness. Our aim is to continue a tradition of craftsmanship that creates true value and appreciates the beauty that can also be found in each cup of coffee.

1950: beginning with Corsino Corsini

The whole story of Caffè Corsini started with Corsino Corsini, who opened a small "vertical" shop in the centre of Arezzo. On the top floor, green coffee beans were stored, on the middle floor roasting took place and on the ground floor customers could buy freshly roasted coffee, which was also packed and rimmed on the spot. The company became known as Caffè Caracas and played an important role in the life of the local community, offering not only new roasting methods but also innovative approaches to coffee marketing.

1959: Modernisation and development

In 1959, when shop sales dominated, Caffè Corsini invested in modern production equipment that perfected the coffee-making process. New technologies, including methods of preserving and blending the coffee, enabled the company to become a model for other coffee producers. The company also introduced new methods to ensure that the coffee always retains its freshness, offering excellent quality.

1971: membership of the Sao Café consortium

Caffè Corsini was one of the founding members of the Sao Café consortium, which brought together the best Italian coffee roasters. This collaboration was very successful and Sao Café became one of the most popular coffee brands in Italy. During this period, the company consolidated its position as an innovator in the coffee market by expanding its activities and its offer.

1987: The first "DOC" coffee in Italy

In 1987, Corsini's son, Silvano Corsini, took over the management of the company and ushered in an era of great change. He pioneered the Italian coffee industry by introducing the first controlled origin coffee (DOC), Estrella del Caribe from the Dominican Republic. This 100% Arabica coffee was the first to indicate origin on the packaging and quickly became a consumer favourite.

1990: The concept of filter coffee in Italy

Although filter coffee was relatively unknown in Italy, Silvano Corsini saw its potential and, in partnership with Melitta, created the first filter coffee in Italy - River Steamer Coffee House. This innovation was very popular and became one of the most sought-after products on the Italian market.

1999: The New Generation - Patrick Hoffer

In 1999, Patrick Hoffer, Silvano's son, took over the management of the company and continued to develop the company by expanding the international customer base. He invested resources to strengthen Caffè Corsini's position on the world market and to focus on sustainable production processes that support both the environment and social responsibility. Patrick also played an active role in the development of the coffee industry and became a well-known personality in the sector, holding prominent roles in organisations such as the Italian Coffee Committee.

2005: Founding of the Barista School

Patrick Hoffer created the Caffè Corsini Academy in 2005 to train the best baristas and roasters. The school has become an important centre of the coffee industry, where young talents are nurtured. It has trained talents such as Francesco Sanapo, three times Italian Barista Champion, and Francesco Masciullo, Italian Barista Champion.
