The cultivation and selling of this exquisite coffee dates back to the late 1700s, in the mountains of the Tarrazu region, south of San José, at an altitude of between 1 200 and 1 700 metres above sea level. The favourable climatic conditions and geographical location, as well as the rich volcanic soil, have created a favourable and natural environment for the cultivation of this coffee.
